Who we are
    About us

    Introduction

The FIBA Foundation is the social and legacy arm of FIBA that addresses the role of sports and particularly basketball in society, preserving and promoting basketball’s values and its cultural heritage.

Our main pillars are Basketball For Good and Cultural Heritage.

Founded in 2008 to build the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball, which hosts the FIBA world headquarters as well as an exhibition space to house the sport’s heritage, the Foundation started implementing Basketball For Good projects in 2016. Since then, we have given hope, joy, and the chance of a better future to over 276,000 beneficiaries per year in 158 countries.

    Basketball For Good

Launched in 2016, the Basketball For Good Pillar empowers, educates, and inspires youth by implementing projects around the world that are aligned with our values and purpose.

The FIBA Foundation collaborates with National Federations, governments, NGOs, partners, and local projects to increase awareness of social issues, fight injustice and inequality, and build healthy and resilient communities.

The Basketball For Good initiatives are divided into 3 types of projects: Mini Basketball, Youth Leadership, and Community Impact.

    Cultural Heritage

FIBA Cultural Heritage is the heart of the FIBA Foundation’s cultural and historical activities, it is one of the driving forces behind the promotion and dissemination of basketball values.

We study, preserve, research, promote, and educate through the cultural heritage of Basketball. We want to become the global reference for international basketball knowledge.
