Cultural Programs

The FIBA Foundation’s cultural programs aim to promote basketball’s rich cultural heritage and core values by engaging global communities through diverse and meaningful initiatives.

Notable examples include the Cinema & Basketball project, which features an exhibition showcasing 90 films from over 20 countries and side events, the FIBA 90 series showcasing 90 iconic moments in FIBA history, and the annual FIBA Photo Contest, which invites fans worldwide to creatively capture the spirit of the game. While these are some of the most prominent projects, they represent only part of the Foundation’s broader cultural efforts to preserve, celebrate, and share basketball’s global legacy and unifying power.

    FIBA Photo Contest

The FIBA Photo Contest is an annual initiative by the FIBA Foundation that invites basketball enthusiasts and photographers from around the world to capture the essence of the game through powerful imagery. Open to all skill levels, the contest encourages creativity while promoting the values and cultural impact of basketball.

Each year, a specific theme guides participants in showcasing how basketball connects people, communities, and cultures globally. Selected photographs are exhibited and shared across FIBA platforms, giving visibility to diverse stories and perspectives. The contest plays a key role in preserving basketball’s visual legacy and celebrating its unifying spirit worldwide.
